A customer calls your company for a taxi. The software displays their telephone number to the operator along with their name if they have used your company before.
-
The operator clicks the “Create booking” button and a new screen is displayed with their telephone number and name pre-filled.
-
The operator used the aided address entry so that they only have to type the first few letters of the address which displays a list of addresses that start with those letters e.g. The operator enter the letters ‘BRO’ and is prompted with the addresses in the area that start with ‘BRO’ . Alternatively, post codes can be used.
-
Additional details can also be entered such as a specific vehicle, flight details or a contract if it is a contract customer.
-
When a booking is entered it is then displayed in a list of bookings to allocate.
-
The base operator allocates the booking to a driver with the aid of a view of the clear drivers along with the time they cleared. Alternatively, a map can be view showing the position of where the drivers last cleared or, if TomTom Work is used, the current position of the drivers.
-
When the booking is allocated to a driver, if TomTom Work is used, the rest of the booking is automated so that, if required, when the driver approached the pick-up address, the system can send an SMS message to the customer’s mobile telephone notifying them that the vehicle is approaching.
-
When the vehicle leaves the pick-up address the system is notified by the TomTom unit and updated the status of the booking as ‘Passenger on board’. It then re-navigates the driver to the destination address.
-
When the vehicle arrives at and then leaves the destination address, the TomTom unit notifies the system of this and the booking is marked as complete and the driver as clear.
