Alert.connect is an affordable lone worker solution that uses TomTom Work to locate your
workers in the event of an emergency. When an alert is created, SMS text alerts and emails are
sent to your office based staff whilst your road based staff can automatically receive navigation
instructions to the alert location.
An alert is created by dialling a specified telephone number which can be entered as a speed
dial on a mobile phone. Alternatively, a Bluetooth pendant can be used which connects to the
user’s mobile phone and dials the alert number.
The following is an example of how the Alert.connect works:-
- A user is faced with an emergency situation whilst at a job and presses the button on his
Bluetooth pendant which dials their companies alert telephone number.
- Alert.connect accepts the incoming call and finds the corresponding vehicle to the
telephone number that made the alert call.
- Alert.connect gets the vehicles position and sends SMS text messages with details of the
caller’s location to pre-defined telephone number.
- Alert.connect sends emails to pre-defined email addresses with details of the caller’s
location and also a link to a map showing the caller’s location.
- Alert.connect sends TomTom Work messages to other TomTom Go units in the company,
directing other drivers to the caller’s location.
